In late capitalist systems, people are defined by their consumer preferences. Some things I like are: reading, writing, Linux, chess, essays, Shakespeare, Montaigne, Sir Thomas Browne, Rainier Maria Rilke, Zebra Sarasa Clip gel pens, Pentel Slici gel pens, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dresden Codak, Gunnerkrigg Court, Emacs, Wisconsin IPAs, science fiction, and some other things.
Some things I dislike are: television, movies, country and western music, Republicans, people who talk about “passion”, people who talk about “writing”, and some other things.
It is more likely that these lists will be added to than that they will be subtracted from.
